How to choose the cutlery for your restaurant

10.10.2019

Every restaurant needs cutlery.  The Question is how to choose the cutlery for your restaurant?

\

So you don’t get confused when browsing online, Flatware and Hollowware are other names used for cutlery.

There are three main types of cutlery on the market today.

    Stainless Steel Cutlery

    Gold and Silver plated Cutlery

    Sterling Silver Cutlery

The most commonly used cutlery is Stainless Steel.  It is widely used in homes and restaurants around the world due to its durability, rust and tarnish resistance, and strength. All the RON GROUP cutlery is stainless steel.

Gold and Silver Plated cutlery is far more expensive and requires regular cleaning and polishing at intervals to maintain lustre and prevent tarnishing.  Sterling Silver cutlery (or pure hallmarked silver) is the pinnacle of cutlery craftsmanship. As with Silver itself, the cost of a luxury Sterling Silver canteen costs about the price of a mid-range new car.

So let’s change the Question to how to choose the cutlery for your restaurant?

Don’t be fooled by thinking price means quality. This is not always the case. Let’s look at the grades of Stainless Steel Flatware. Stainless Steel is graded or scored based on the amount of Chromium and Nickel in the actual steel.  The higher the levels the stronger and more rust resistant the steel. 18/0 reflects base grade stainless steel and is quite weak compared to 18/8 or 18/10 stainless steel.  We recommend 18/10 stainless steel flatware as it is designed for long-term use with maximum durability.  Most restaurants use 18/10 as it is made to last the distance. So in short, 18/10 Stainless Steel is the Best Stainless Steel cutlery to buy.
